We are now less than 2 months away from the start of Obi-Wan Kenobi on Disney+. To say I’m excited is of course an understatement—we’re getting Ewan McGregor back as Obi-Wan, how could I not be excited—and what I am really loving is just how little we really know about the story right now. And that allows for some fun speculation.
So today I’m looking at characters we could potentially see in the show. Now I’m going to stay away from people that have been confirmed as appearing, but even so, I will warn you that there may be spoilers below, either from me referencing known casting news, the trailer or just getting lucky with my predictions!
Qui-Gon Jinn
One name has been conspicuously absent from all of the cast announcements: Liam Neeson. Of course by the time of the show (10 years after Revenge of the Sith) Obi-Wan’s former master has been dead for over 20 years, but the final scenes of that movie stated that he had found a path to immortality, which led to Obi-Wan and Yoda learning how to return as Force ghosts, something taken further in The Clone Wars season 6 and the short story “Master and Apprentice” in From A Certain Point of View. As such, I would be shocked if Jinn does not appear as a Force ghost at some point in the show, or at least appear as a non-corporeal voice to Obi-Wan in his isolation. In fact, I recently predicted that some of Obi-Wan’s lines in the trailer were actually part of a conversation with him.
Anakin Skywalker
OK, so we know that Hayden Christensen is returning as the Dark Lord of the Sith, but I don’t see why you go for someone so notable just to hide him in the famous armour. While it may just be setting us up for some shots of Vader in his bacta tank or perhaps in damaged armour, I have this feeling that we may get to see Hayden as Anakin Skywalker in a flashback too.
Leia
So while I could not find any confirmation, rumours of Jimmy Smits returning as Bail Organa have been flying around for ages. And with Bail, do we have the chance to see his adoptive daughter, Leia? We know from the novel Ahsoka that Bail and Ahsoka are in contact by this point, and Ahsoka has experience of an Inquisitor having chased her but also gone after a Force-sensitive child. Could she pass on a warning to Bail, which will lead to Bail contacting Obi-Wan to warn him, but also then showing us a quick moment of Bail’s efforts to keep the other Skywalker sibling safe?
Camie, Fixer & Biggs
So this one is a bit of a long shot, but whe now that we’re going to see moments of Obi-Wan watching over 10-year-old Luke from a distance. Well what if we see Obi-Wan watching as Luke takes a visit to Tosche Station to play with his friends, Camie, Fixer and a pre-moustache Biggs Darklighter. While I definitely think that this is a long shot, it would be easy enough to include a shot of Luke playing with some other kids around his age, while The Book of Boba Fett recently saw Camie and Fixer appear on screen for the first time after having their scenes from A New Hope failed to make the movie.
Quinlan Vos
Now this is out of left field, but hear me out. Quinlan Vos is a Jedi Master and friend of Obi-Wan Kenobi, who has supposedly escaped order 66, with 2017’s Star Wars: Darth Vader comic revealing that Vos is one of the Inquisitors’ priority targets. Now for many people who watch this show, the Inquisitors will be something new, as not everyone will have watched Rebels, played Fallen Order or read the comics. So what better way to instantly make thema threat by having them hunt down and defeat a Jedi. So why should Vos be that Jedi? Well he has links with Tatooine, as he specialised in the criminal underworld and in fact featured in a blink and you’ll miss it cameo in The Phantom Menace in Mos Espa—Tatooine sounds like the kind of place I could imagine Vos going to ground. But more than that, as a friend to Obi-Wan it would just add to Obi-Wan’s struggle if he has to stay hidden and watch his good friend die rather than try to help him and risk Luke being discovered.
Who do you think could appear in the show? Let me know in the comments.
Thanks for reading. May the Force be with you….
Good choices. I’m thinking Qui Gonn, Anakin and Bail as the most likely suspects. Personally, I’d like to see Rex or Cody, but I doubt that will happen, as there’s probably no reason for them to show up, lol.

Cody would be an interesting one! But I do wonder if there would be space for him with Vader and the Inquisitors. Thanks for reading
