Where has this year gone?! It’s hard to believe that we’re already into December, but we really are into the final stretch of 2022, and with that comes something that I have been looking forward to for months: time to open the new LEGO Star Wars advent calendar. Last year was my first ever time getting the calendar, as one of my friends bought it for me, and I absolutely loved it, so had to get this year’s!
But rather than keep it to myself, I thought that this year it would be fun to chart this month’s gifts with you. So each day, I will be showing you the minikit that was behind that day’s door, allowing you to decide if the calendar is something you would consider purchasing in the future, but I will also then give a few details about the ship/item/character the kit is of.
So… let’s get going!
2022 Advent Calendar:
- LAAT/i gunship
- Clone trooper – 212ᵗʰ Attack Battalion – Phase I armor
- Droid tri-fighter
- Acclamator-class Republic assault ship
- B1 battle droid
- Omicron-class attack shuttle
- X-34 landspeeder
- T-16 skyhopper
- C-3PO
- Moisture vaporator
- V-35 courier
- Darth Vader
- Fortress Vader (sandcastle)
Day 13 has given us a minikit of a sandcastle of Fortress Vader. Created approximately 2 years before the Battle of Yavin, Fortress Vader was built from the designs of the former Sith Lord Darth Momin on the planet Mustafar, on the location of Vader’s defeat to Obi-Wan kenobi, which conveniently also allowed it to be situated on top of an ancient Sith cave. The central tower was constructed out of obsidian, while its tuning towers served as conduits for the dark side. Inside, Vader maintained a bacta tank where he would remove his armor and rest inside, served by his attendant Vanée. The castle served Vader throughout the Galactic Civil War, but in the years following Vader’s death, it was partially destroyed, and the ruins became protected by the Alazmec of Winsit, a Sith cult who colonized Mustafar until they were slaughtered during Kylo Ren’s hunt for Vader’s wayfinder.
What do you think of the minikit, and the advent calendar in general?
