Welcome to “One Week of Star Wars”, a quick series of 7 articles that will be released daily celebrating some of my favourite things in the Star Wars galaxy. Today, we’re looking at TV Thursday

While many people will be fans of the movies and not want to go any further in their fandom, I have no problem with this but think that they are missing out on some of the best storytelling in the canon with the TV shows.
I remember when The Clone Wars movie and TV series first came out, mid-to-late teen Tim had no inclination to watch. I was in my dark patch where I still loved Star Wars but had no desire to watch a cartoon for kids. One very hungover weekend at uni changed that as I needed something easy to watch while I recovered and I found myself enjoying the film and carrying straight on into a binge of the show, getting myself up to date in time for season 4! From there, I was fully invested in the show and the love transferred over to Rebels when that took its place, especially once old favourites like Ahsoka and Rex joined the show. Now Resistance is here and while it hasn’t grabbed me in quite the same way during season 1, I still can’t wait to see what happens going forwards.
If I had to pick my top 5 characters from the whole of canon, 3 of them are from the shows (Sabine Wren, Ahsoka Tano and Captain Rex), while Obi-Wan also features largely from his portrayal in The Clone Wars.
Now moving forwards, we have The Clone Wars getting the finale it deserved, along with 3 live action shows: The Mandalorian, a show featuring Cassian Andor and K-2SO and an as-yet unannounced show… there is soon going to be something for everyone!
Thanks for reading. May the Force be with you…
