From a Certain Point of View: The Prequel Trilogy

Hello there!

swbook from a certain point of viewSo I recently wrote about how much I enjoyed the book From a Certain Point of View, a novel celebrating the 40th anniversary of the release of A New Hope, containing 40 short stories showing the events of the movie from the point of view of other characters. I really enjoyed the book and hope that we get these for the other movies as we reach their anniversaries, but who could feature in those stories?

Having suggested some characters I think would feature (or would like to feature) from the other Original Trilogy movies, I thought it would now be fun to do something similar for the Prequel Trilogy. Would I be able to wait until their 40th anniversaries? Probably not cos patience isn’t really a strong point for me, but something similar could be done for the 25th anniversaries as this year is the 20th anniversary of The Phantom Menace.

The Phantom Menace

  • Nute Gunray
  • Rune Haako
  • Palpatine – Queen Amidala’s decision to return to Naboo appeared to be the one thing he wasn’t expecting during the movie, I would love to know his internal thoughts at that moment and how he adapted his scheming to this
  • Darth Maul
  • Captain Tarpals
  • TC-14
  • Ric Olié
  • Captain Panaka
  • Sabé – an internal monologue of her thoughts when acting as Queen Amidala could be great to see
  • Sio Bibble
  • Yoda
  • Mace Windu
  • Chancellor Valorum
  • Count Dooku – a moment to see Dooku’s reaction to news of his former padawan’s death would be nice and could tie in towards his journey to the dark side
  • Sebulba
  • Watto
  • Shmi Skywalker
  • Boss Nass
  • Quinlan Vos – the character of Quinlan Vos was initially just an extra in the background of a scene where Sebulba attacks Jar Jar, but due to fan interest he became a fleshed out character. A story could tell us the reason why he was on Tatooine
  • Aurra Sing – this would be a chance to explain Aurra’s presence at the podrace
  • The Tusken Raiders shooting at the podracers

Attack of the Clones

  • Cordé
  • Captain Typho
  • Dormé
  • Zam Wesell
  • Boba Fett – Fett’s initial reaction to his father’s death could be an interesting read, The Clone Wars TV series shows he wants revenge against Mace Windu for killing Jango
  • Palpatine
  • Kit Fisto
  • Coleman Trebor – the heroic/stupid (delete as appropriate) Jedi who tries to take on Dooku and Jango alone
  • The man who marries Anakin and Padmé
  • Shmi Skywalker
  • Owen Lars
  • Cliegg Lars
  • Beru Whitesun
  • One of the Tusken tribe that Anakin slaughterssw-char-ahsoka-tcw-funko.jpg
  • Bail Organa
  • Mas Amedda
  • Yoda
  • Mace Windu
  • Ahsoka Tano/Caleb Dume – either of these could tell a similar story of their time before becoming padawans to Anakin Skywalker or Depa Billaba respectively. Dave Filoni has mentioned that they had met as younglings and done some saber training together at the Jedi Temple
  • Rex

Revenge of the Sith

  • Order 66 – this could be shown from the point of view of so many characters, both the Jedi and the clones. Thinking about the possibilities for a clone perspective of Order 66, I can’t stop thinking of the voice-overs during the story mode of the original Star Wars Battlefront 2 game
  • Cin Drallig
  • The Grand Inquisitor – originally a Jedi Temple Guard, we could see the moment where he and some of his fellow inquisitors turn against the Jedi during the attack on the Jedi Temple
  • Zett Jukassa
  • Commander Appo – or any other members of the 501st still surviving from the Clone Wars as they stormed the Jedi Temple
  • Commander Cody –  I would love to see his thoughts during the Battle of Utapau and the beginning of Order 66
  • Chewbacca
  • Captain Antilles
  • Breha Organa
  • Owen & Beru Lars
  • Count Dooku
  • The Polis Massa medical droid
  • Mas Amedda
  • Tarkin
  • Wullf Yularen – after years of serving alongside Anakin Skywalker, I’d love to see his thoughts as the Jedi are declared traitors and the Republic becomes the Empire
  • Queen Apailana

Who would you like to see? Thanks for reading and May the Force be with you…
