31 Days of Star Wars – Day 28

Welcome to 31 Days of Star Wars! As this is a new blog I thought this would be the perfect way for you to get to know me a bit by answering a different question about my Star Wars preferences each day in March. Today’s subject is…

Favourite TV Show Character

I never thought I would have made this pick when she was originally introduced to Star Wars, but my favourite TV character is Ahsoka Tano.

The idea of Anakin Skywalker having a young Togruta girl as a Padawan between Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith seemed ludicrous at first and using names like “Skyguy” and “Artoo-ey” in the early episodes did nothing to help my opinion of this character.

“No. Master Yoda was very specific. I’m assigned to Anakin Skywalker, and he is to supervise my Jedi training.”

However, she had a purpose as a number of things that happen to her clearly help to edge Anakin towards the Dark side. But to say she is just a vehicle for Anakin’s fall is to do her a disservice. As her character grew up, she matured into an accomplished Jedi and a great character in her own right. The season 5 finale of The Clone wars, where Ahsoka decides to leave the Jedi Order was heart-breaking for so many fans.

It was great to see her reappear in Rebels and to see her in more of a master role, with her fight against the Inquisitors in the season 2 episode The Future of the Force and her interactions with Vader in The Siege of Lothal and Twilight of the Apprentice amazing to watch. Her reintroduction in series 4 was incredible and I look forward to seeing what Dave Filoni et al. have planned for her moving forwards.

Who is your favourite character from the TV shows? Let me know in the comments. Thanks for reading and May the Force be with you…
