31 Days of Star Wars – Day 27

Welcome to 31 Days of Star Wars! As this is a new blog I thought this would be the perfect way for you to get to know me a bit by answering a different question about my Star Wars preferences each day in March. Today’s subject is…

Favourite Movie Character

Looking at all 9 movies, I can’t help but pick a man who has already received some love in this seriesHan Solo.

The cocky rogue brings comedy to the films without the slapstick humour of Jar Jar Binks, is an accomplished pilot and a crack shot with his trusty DL-44 heavy blaster pistol. He was also the only film character to use a lightsaber without being force sensitive for many years, until Finn came along in The Force Awakens.

“Hokey religions and ancient weapons are no match for a good blaster at your side, kid.”

Throughout the Original Trilogy, he develops from a selfish smuggler who cares about only himself and Chewie to a leader of the Rebellion and a trusty friend, while also making a princess fall in love with him.

Harrison Ford played the role so well and it is no surprise that he became iconic for this role. When he returned in The Force Awakens, it really did feel like the same character, just older as he still had the sarcastic quips and grumpy outbursts, but had also developed a greater understanding of the Force from everything he had seen, even if it was just enough to know that “that’s not how the Force works!”

Who is your favourite character from the movies? Let me know in the comments. Thanks for reading and May the Force be with you…

    1. Agreed, I love Ahsoka, but not really in The Clone Wars movie and I’ve tried to keep this post to movie characters. She’ll get the recognition she deserves in the next few days! Thanks for reading
