Welcome to 31 Days of Star Wars! As this is a new blog I thought this would be the perfect way for you to get to know me a bit by answering a different question about my Star Wars preferences each day in March. Today’s subject is…
Favourite Ship
This is quite a broad category as it takes in everything from one-man fighters right through to capital ships like Snoke’s Supremacy so it’s safe to say that I have plenty of options. I very nearly picked the classic T-65 X-Wing as used by the Rebel Alliance, though my (admittedly limited) success on Star Wars Battlefront 2 with the RZ-1 A-Wing has bumped that up my list. But if I am being honest, there was only one ship I could really pick here: the Millennium Falcon.
“She may not look like much, but she’s got it where it counts, kid”
Everybody’s favourite YT-1300 light freighter is closer than any other ship to being a character in its own right and it’s instantly recognisable to fans. I’m sure fans were hit by the Falcon’s reveal in much the same way as they were the reintroductions of Han & Chewie, Leia and Luke. This is the ship that played an integral part in the destruction of both Death Stars as well as making the Kessel Run in less than 12 parsecs.
We’ve always known that Han made some modifications to the Falcon after winning her from Lando in a game of Sabacc and we have already seen that she will look different in Solo: A Star Wars Story. I am looking forward to seeing just how different the Falcon is at this point and I really hope we get to see the famous game of Sabacc!
What’s your favourite ship? Let me know in the comments. Thanks for reading and May the Force be with you…
